‘Majimoji Rurumo’ Receives Sequel OVA

The November 2018 issue of Shounen Sirius announced on Wednesday that an OVA for Wataru Watanabe’s Majimoji Rurumo manga series is in production. The new episode will be bundled with the ninth limited edition volume of Majimoji Rurumo: Houkago no Mahou Chuugakusei manga on July 9, 2019.

Titled “Majimoji Rurumo: Kanketsu-hen,” the OVA will be based on the Majimoji Rurumo: Makai-hen manga, and serve as a sequel to the TV anime. The main staff and cast will reprise their roles, with Watanabe in charge of supervising the script.

Watanabe launched the comedy fantasy manga in 2007 prior to serializing Yowamushi Pedal. The first manga in the series ended with seven volumes in 2011, which was followed the four-volume Makai-hen sequel published between 2011-2013. Majimoji Rurumo: Houkago no Mahou Chuugakusei, the latest installment, began in Shounen Sirius in June 2013. Kodansha will publish the eighth compiled volume on October 9.

J.C.Staff produced a 12-episode anime adaptation in Spring 2014. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime as it aired in Japan.
